Jefferson's lawyer, Robert Trout, and prosecutor Mark Lytle had both agreed that, following the appeals court's unanimous ruling, the time had come for Jefferson to begin serving his time.No word yet if Nancy Pelosi has put a plug in for him to become head of inmate security.
“Congress has always been a mockery,” Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) declared in an interview on “The Charlie Rose Show” Monday night.
Commenting on the public’s current low opinion of Congress, Pelosi said “Congress has always been a mockery since the beginning of our country”:When San Fran Nan calls for civility, those on her side of the isle pay close attention.
Pelosi then said that shunning “civility” in Congressional debate is “a tactic by obstructionists”:
“But, the fact is, is that if you can get civility back — and that’s why the public has to be part of the solution. They have to demand and insist on the stability because it’s a tactic by obstructionists. If you want to obstruct, you make it so unpleasant that no one wants to pay attention.”Obviously her party has that "tactic" mastered...
“A healthier life, the liberty to pursue happiness, free of the constraints that lack of healthcare might provide to a family,” she said. “If you want to be photographer, a writer, an artist, a musician, you can do so. Getting that crown, with a 61 percent unfavorable rating, is House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, followed closely by her Senate Democratic colleague, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has a 55 percent unfavorable rating in a new Scott Rasmussen poll. Just 29 percent give Pelosi, the former speaker struggling to win back the House majority, a favorable rating. Reid’s favorable rating is lower, at 24 percent.Lovely.
The Democratic leader was holding a briefing to promote a campaign finance disclosure bill when she said she was “asking people to contribute to us, if they want to elect more reformers to Congress.”
House ethics rules prohibit members of Congress from soliciting campaign donations in House office buildings, including the Capitol Visitor Center, where Pelosi was speaking. A section of the U.S. criminal code also prohibits fund-raising in federal buildings.Of course this will be widely reported from the MSM...

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, who served as Speaker of the House and is now head of the House minority, is once again spending her Christmas at the exotic Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu in Kona on the island of Hawaii.
Pelosi reportedly plans to spend her Christmas Eve at midnight mass in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona.
Pelosi spent the last two Christmas holidays in Kona at the same hotel in an elaborate suite that rents for $10,000 a night.
Obama’s trip to the island of Oahu has proved much pricier to state and federal taxpayers.
In a Hawaii Reporter story published last week, the total cost (based on what is known) for a 17-day round trip vacation to Hawaii for the President and his family and staff and security is an estimated $4,113,038.
That includes $3,629,622 for separate travel for the president and his family, $151,200 for housing for security, $72,216 for staff to stay in one of Hawaii’s most luxurious resorts, the Moana Surfrider in Waikiki, and local police protection and ambulance detail for $260,000.Meanwhile the fourth best President is proving once again just how lazy he really is...
The Pelosi family seems to fair pretty well with all her inside connections.In May 2010, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi took to a podium in the Capitol to introduce a half-dozen economic experts she had convened for a meeting on how to jump-start the economy. The group had met for several hours with top Democratic leaders, and Pelosi invited them to speak publicly on their perspectives on economic growth.What Pelosi did not mention is that one of the men in the group was her son’s boss and a partner with her husband in more than a half-dozen investments, including one that generated more than $100,000 in income for the Speaker’s family last year.It was the fourth time since 2007 that Pelosi had invited San Francisco investment banker William Hambrecht to be part of an economic policy forum on the Hill and the third time she appeared at a podium with him to speak to reporters. At none of those events did the then-Speaker reveal her financial ties to Hambrecht, and House rules did not require her to do so.
“Our statement is we are reigniting, Democrats are reigniting the American dream, building ladders of success, removing obstacles to opportunity to all who work hard and play by the rules,” Pelosi said. “We have work to do.
