You Have Been Skewed

By the usual suspects.

The skewed sampling is quite large.
But that’s not the only influence on the new WaPo/ABC poll numbers.  After hiding the partisan composition numbers for the last two months, today’s poll includes that data from the last three presidential polls.  Let’s take a look at the D/R/I series, keeping in mind that the D/R/I from the 2010 midterm elections was 35/35/30
  • March: 31/27/36
  • February: 34/23/37
  • January: 32/25/36
Obama trails even with an 11 point edge.
Lovely.

More Media Bias (that doesn't exist)

Good grief.

Well-known public radio host Garrison Keillor is hosting a fundraiser for President Obama in his home state of Minnesota.
Obama campaign manager Jim Messina will be in the North Star state this week for several events, including a fundraiser at the home of Keillor, Minnesota Public Radio reports.
Any day now I expect Brian Williams or Scott Pelley to host one too.

Media Bias? What Media Bias?

If they aren't cheerleading for him, they are working for him.

Those inside the administration hit 14 this month when the Post’s Stephen Barr joined the Labor Department. That’s a record, say some revolving door watchers, and could even be much higher: The Post reports that “dozens” of former journalists have joined the administration, although Washington Secrets couldn’t verify that tally.
I would love to know the actual number of the creatures that actually do work in this administration. Scary thought I know.

NY Times And CBS Move Into Gear

It is their job after all to cheerlead for Obama.

President Obama’s political standing is rising along with voters’ optimism that the economy is getting better, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, a shift that coincides with continued Republican disquiet over the field of candidates seeking to replace him.

Consecutive months of job growth, the bullish stock market and improving consumer demand appear to be benefiting — for now, at least — a president who stated outright three years ago that his chances for a second term would depend on his ability to persuade the country that its economy was on the mend by this very month.
What is misleading as Steve Gilbert points out, is buried 390 words into the article...
More people said they disapproved of Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy, 50 percent, than said they approved, 44 percent. And he received poor marks on his handling of the federal budget deficit, with 59 percent of poll respondents expressing disapproval
And yet some still wonder about media bias.

Once A hack Always A Hack

Put the best I have seen so far...

I guess what’s surprising about this is that anyone would be surprised. George Stephanopoulos is one of the original Clintonistas. He’s a political hack pretending to be a journalist, while other political hacks pretending to be journalists pretend that he’s a legitimate journalist.
I could pretend I said that.

Jobs Claims Down?

Only if you are to believe the AP.

Weekly applications dropped by 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 372,000 last week, the Labor Department said. That’s 11 percent lower than the same time last year and a positive sign ahead of Friday’s important read on December job growth.
This didn't get by the watchful eye of  Steve Gilbert.
In typical fashion the AP neglects to mention that the previous week’s new unemployment claims number was actually up by a whopping 21,000. In fact, that terrible news got practically no attention last week, since it was reported during the Christmas holidays.
Believe nothing coming from Obama's news outlets, NOTHING.
